Average Fundamentals

Average players don’t have average talent. They have average fundamentals.

Most players believe the opposite. They think what’s missing is advanced knowledge. Maybe a new aiming system, or a better kicking system or a clever banking system.

But if you can’t hit the cue ball precisely, none of that matters.

Try the Mofudat drill ten times in a row. Most players don’t get past five. Frustration shows up quickly.

So they move on to the next big thing.

World-class players do the opposite. John Morra still works on stroke alignment. Max Lechner begins every practice session with single-ball shots.

Fundamentals aren’t beginner work. They’re professional work. The greats remain great because they never graduate from the basics.

Fundamentals are only boring until they expose you. And once they do, the real work begins.
